It is approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences and includes a psychology course combined with individualized phlebotomy training and hands-on experience at a local hospital or clinical setting. Completion of the program makes graduates eligible to sit for the American Society for Clinical Pathology Registry Exam. The Charlotte Technical Center offers a part-time phlebotomy course that is a 75-hour, 10-week course for individuals with prior healthcare training. Classes meet thrice a week in evenings. The Carolinas College of Health Sciences has a 10-week phlebotomy program, which includes five weeks of clinical rotations for actual hands-on experience. Completion of the program will qualify graduates to sit in a national certification exam.
