For short-term phlebotomy training in Seattle, there is the North Seattle Community College’s Phlebotomy Short Course in Basic Blood Collection Techniques. It’s a compressed course completed in five weeks during Saturdays for a total of 28 hours. Whether a beginner to supplement healthcare skills or professional assigned to tasks involving blood and specimen collection, you benefit from this intensive program. Otherwise, there is the two-quarter I-Best Phlebotomist Certificate Program. It is a combination course for phlebotomy technicians who are not native English speakers. Each class is handled by laboratory/theory instructor for the main phlebotomy course and a support instructor who handles the language proficiency component. To ensure adequate training is provided, there is an additional two hours per week allocated for skills training. Enrollment for phlebotomy training is limited to 20 students at the Seattle Vocational Institute. It offers a one quarter, 135 clock hour program that will qualify graduates to sit for a technician license or national certification.
